Question 1

Can I add a sprite outline without Photoshop stroke?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sprite Outline (https://gameimagekit.com/en/tool/sprite-outline) batches inner/outer strokes on transparent PNGs in the browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Question 2

Are my images uploaded to a server?

Accepted Answer

No. Stroke computation and export all happen locally in your browser — files are never uploaded.

Question 3

Inner vs outer stroke?

Accepted Answer

Inner stroke only recolors existing opaque pixels, so atlas cell size stays fixed. Outer stroke grows the canvas by “width” pixels on each side; packer cells must be larger. Use outer or both when you need a thicker, more readable silhouette.

Question 4

Will the outline be blurry? Can I get a pixel-art hard edge?

Accepted Answer

The fill is a distance field of solid pixels, not a Gaussian blur. In the pixel-art tool the stroke is applied on the grid (1 = one block).

Question 5

Can I outline a GIF or frame sequence?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Drop multiple PNGs (sorted by filename) or a GIF to split frames; settings are shared. Then ZIP or send to the tray to rebuild a GIF / atlas.

Question 6

What does the alpha threshold do?

Accepted Answer

Pixels below that alpha count as background. Raise it to hug a solid silhouette if you have fringes; lower it if hollow details get eaten.
